<p><b>Tasting Notes</b> <br />This dynamic Pinot Noir opens with enticing cherry pie and brown sugar scents, with cinnamon and anise spice tones emerging with aeration. The wine’s luscious, silky mouthfeel introduces juicy red plum flavors that pick up a savory sandalwood tone in the lingering finish. <p><b>Wine History</b> <br />Erath produces Pinot Noir from several different vineyards in the Dundee Hills American Viticultural Area. We blend our best 'reserve-quality' wines from these sites to create Erath Estate Selection Pinot Noir. Volcanic-based Jory soils are predominant in the Dundee Hills AVA and give this wine its distinctive aroma and flavor profile and elegant, age-worthy stucture. Fruit-focused in its youth, our Estate Selection Pinot gains additional complexity and sophistication when cellared for three to eight years. The 2006 vintage, reflecting a warm, dry growing season, is precociously flavorful now, but will undoubtedly benefit from several more years of bottle aging.</p>
