Tasting Notes
You easily can lose yourself in the labyrinth of aromas and flavors distinguishing our 2007 Pinot Gris. Warm, toasty, banana cream pie scents dominate the nose, with hints of lemon and fresh applesauce. Juicy honeydew melon and stone fruit flavors are accented by intriguing floral notes, while palate-cleansing acidity carries the wine through its complex, lingering finish.

Wine History
Erath has worked with the Pinot Gris grape for more than two decades. Our approach with the variety is to showcase its lovely fruit and refreshing acidity in a pure, 'no wood, no maloactic' style. Our attention to detail with Pinot Gris begins in the vineyards and continues in the winery. From the close monitoring of cluster counts and weights to whole-cluster pressing and cool fermentation temperatures, the goal is to make a lively, balanced, food-friendly white wine reflecting Oregon's cool-climate growing conditions. In 2007, an especially cool harvest season allowed us to craft a particularly fresh, vibrant Pinot Gris ideal for spring and summer sipping.
